The following table shows the pin function descriptions of this LM2575, a monolitic IC designed for a step down switching regulator. LM2575 used to be applied in applications for such Power Supply for Battery Chargers, Simple High-Efficiency Step-Down(Buck) Regulator, Pre-Regulator for Linear Regulators and more.
A low cost 3A switching regulator circuit diagram is shown in the following schematic. LM317s are part of the LM117 series of adjustable positive voltage regulators.
The LM2576s are Buck Regulators which is rated for 3A of continuous load current and developed as Simple Switcher product family. These devices are available in fixed output voltages of 3.3V, 5V, 12V, 15V, and an adjustable output version. The basic Buck regulator application circuit is shown in the following picture.
