Learning How to Design Oscillator – RF Circuits

May 18th, 2010

The following semiconductor article reviews how to design RF Circuits – Oscillators which is concentrated on a worked Oscillator Circuit Design example of a Clapp oscillator, using a varactor tuned ceramic coaxial resonator for voltage control of the output frequency. This circuit used to be applied at Plextek in Satellite Digital Audio Broadcasting circuits, and in telemetry links for Formula One racing cars.

What you will see in the depth of the article are sections such as General Equivalent Circuits for RF Oscillators, Schematic for Small-Signal Oscillator Design, Small-Signal Negative Resistance Simulation, Schematic for Large-Signal Oscillator Design, Large-Signal Oscillator Phase Noise Simulation and more.

Synchronizing NJM3770A Stepper Motor Driver Circuit Diagram

May 17th, 2010

The schematic below appears typical stepper motor driver application with NJM3770A. As seen in the diagram, the single channel stepper motor drivers NJM3717 and NJM3770A are not synchronized.

Closed Loop Control Circuit using Sensor and Actuator

May 16th, 2010

The herein article contains information related on the method of closed loop control with a sensor and an actuator and thermistor sensing circuit diagram how to apply the method to build a rudimentary On/Off heater controller (On/Off Temperature Control). The semiconductor components used to build this control circuit are thermistor, Zener diode, LED, relay, op-amp, and bipolar transistor.

Sections describe in this article are such essential elements of the control circuit, basic thermistor sensing circuit (using an op-amp without feedback as a comparator), thermistor sensing circuit using 2N222 transistor with 4 and output driver stage added, controlling a real actuator with a relay, and then finalising the circuit and improving the stability with Schmitt Trigger.
