Generating Negative Supply using the ICL7660 Circuit Schematic and Datasheet

Since the ICL7135 is designed to work from less more 5V supplies, if you need to generate a negative supply you may negative supply circuit using ICL7660 use the ICL7660 CMOS Voltage Converters for that IC. This ICL7660 can also be connected to function as voltage doublers and will generate output voltages up to +18.6V with a +10V input.

For generating a negative supply, it can be performed with an ICL7660 and two 10 uF capacitors as shown in the schematic diagram. This IC can also be used in applications such as On Board Negative Supply for Dynamic RAMs, Inexpensive Negative Supplies, Localized Micro Processor (8080 Type) Negative Supplies, and Data Acquisition Systems, according to the datasheet.

USB Battery Charger Components and Circuit using LTC4053

The schematic herein shows a minimum component solution to the USB battery charger using LTC4053 IC to achieve a fully compliant USB charger. This IC is a standalone linear charger for lithium ion (li-ion) batteries that can be powered directly from a USB port, according to the datasheet.

The operation of the USB Li-ion charger circuit using the LTC4053 is simple, accordingly. The resistor on the PROG pin sets the charge curent, capacitor on the timer pin sets the termination timer period, and float voltage is preset at 4.2V. For fully compliant USB charger, it needs only five components including the LTC4053.

The pin 2 of TPIC46L01/02 is the voltage compare enable (Vcompen), the pin is pulled high to select the external reference voltage compare (VCOMP) at pin 3 and so does external voltage for setting the fault threshold reference to a different value.
