High Efficiency Step-Up Converter Circuit Diagram using L6920DA IC

The following circuit diagram schemes a high efficiency step-up converter based on the L6920DA IC. When white LEDs are powered from a single or two cell batteries, you need a boost converter for boosting the voltage to drive the LEDs.

Above circuit schematic perform LED flashlight evaluation board which has an internal synchronous rectifier is implemented with a 120 mΩ P-channel MOSFET, replacing the conventional boost diode for efficiency improvement. Startup is 1V and the device operates down to 0.6 V. It has a very low quiescent current of only 10 uA.
